This gorgeous lamp is made up of the mineral called Selenite. Selenite is made of calcium Sulfate Dihydrate and is a Monoclinic crystal. It is one of a variety of minerals that is made from Gypsum. Gypsum is a mineral that is used to make drywall and sheetrock.
Selenite is formed when gypsum crystallizes out of sulfate rich solutions such as hot springs or salty lakes, but it can also be found in sedimentary deposits as well.
